When to use this gig:
- You just have one, two, or three questions at most you need feedback on
- You’re having trouble deciding which choice to make and need some more information to help you decide
- You want to run an A/B test on an image or text
- If you want quick hit feedback from A LOT of unbiased people on literally anything you can think of
1. A/ B Test*
A/B testing just means we’re testing two alternatives to see which is preferred. A or B…get it?
A/B testing is a perfect question type to use in a one question poll.
This A/B test question allows us to randomly display different versions of a question, image, or free-standing text, to different survey respondents. This allows you can assess how the different stimuli affected responses. For example, if I were to ask the following question:
Do you think this person is interested in taking over the world?
50% of respondents would answer based on seeing image A…
And 50% of respondents would answer based on seeing image B…
While the answer might seem self-evident here, feel free to answer and check out the results for yourself! (*Note that the A/B test option will add an additional $5 to your order)
2. Multiple choice
Ask the poll taker to choose one answer (or multiple answers) from a list of answer choices. Multiple choice questions are the most common question type by far.ANSWER THIS QUESTION RESULTS REPORT
A ranking question allows you to ask the survey taker to organize a list of options in the order they prefer using numeric dropdown menus or drag-and-drop.
Open ended questions allow you to get more descriptive feedback, by using a comment/ essay box to collect open-ended written feedback from respondents.
This gig extra costs an additional $10 per question asked to 100 respondents.
5. Likert rating scale
A Likert scale is commonly used in survey design, and allows respondents to specify their level of agreement or disagreement with a statement or statements. Please note that each line is counted as a separate question for the purposes of the gig.
Sliders are fun to use and a little off the beaten path. They let your respondents rate an item or statement on a numerical scale by dragging an interactive slider.
7. Net promoter score
Measure customer satisfaction with your organization, brand, product and service.
I’ll calculate your score when delivering your results.
Upon request you can select any of these additional options to include in your survey.
Please note that items with an asterisk (*) require a gig extra.
Answer randomization does what it sounds like – it randomizes your answers to each respondent so that you minimize question order bias and improve your data quality.
Embed a video*
I can also embed your video within the survey and ask people questions about it. Note that pricing for videos is dependent upon the video length. Contact me for a custom quote.
Embed an image
I can also embed an image or series of images into your survey and ask respondents questions about them. 1 image is included in the basic gig, with a cost of $5 per additional image.
I recommend you check out these optional extras to take your poll to the next level.
Recruit Additional People to Take Your Poll
In general, getting more people to take your survey is always a good thing. More people in your survey means that your results become more reliable.
I can help you recruit as many additional people to be a part of your research study as you want.
Please contact me for larger orders in excess of 500 responses, as this can impact the delivery timeframe.
Also feel free to check out these few quick rules of thumb to decide how many responses you need for your survey.
Recruit Any Target Audience You Want to Take Your Poll
If you’d like a different target audience than random US consumers to take your poll, then you’ll want to order the custom audience gig extra.
I will screen and recruit only the people who you want to take your poll. Anyone who doesn’t meet your target audience definition will be disqualified.
You can define different custom audience target groups by:
- Age range
- Or any combination of the above
Cost: $20 for 100 responses, or $0.20 per response. For more complex or difficult recruits, please contact me for cost & availability.
Review & Edit Your Poll So it Adheres to Best Practices
Poll editing is just what it sounds like – I’ll help you develop your poll before we start recruiting.
In the basic gig, I ask your questions and answers exactly as you provide them to me.
But having worked with thousands of people from all geographies and backgrounds, I can say that 90% of the time I notice different opportunities to streamline the survey design or ask questions in a different way to minimize survey bias.
And your poll won’t go live until you are happy with the results. The basic level of poll editing comes with up to 2 rounds of revisions.
Do you want to see how the answers in your poll vary by age, gender, or another characteristic of your audience? Then consider adding crosstab analysis
I’ll analyze your responses by age and gender, or any other criteria you specify.
This type of analysis can help shed light into how certain groups respond to your questions compared to other groups.
Cost: 2 Crosstab reports are $20. For more in depth analysis, please contact me for a quote.
